LITE
The Mood Cathedral hotel in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, executed by architecture firm Miriam Barrio,is the perfect example of this fusion: a single project in which materials and finishes join together to provide perfect functionality and convey well-being.
The suites’ interior design is characterized by elegant perforated sliding doors, made of natural rattan fiber, which run from wall to wall. They are structured by a single recessed KLEIN LITE+sliding track, which creates a separation between the room and the hall, while also supporting the sliding closet doors.
This continuous, minimalist lateral plan, which at a glance appears to be solely made up of these sliding rattan panels, organizes the space and conveys harmony. The use of a natural material with a perforated finish makes the partitions seem airy, while also allowing for the diffusion of natural light.
In this project, the materials lend character, while the LITE+sliding system is the differentiating component.
